Too awful to ~; deeply ~ (gratitude, etc.)
There are two uses. (1) After the dictionary form of 見る, 聞く, 読む, etc., it means something is too awful to watch, hear or read, expressing strong criticism: 聞くに堪えない. (2) After nouns such as 感謝 (gratitude) or 感激 (deep emotion), it means the feeling is overwhelming: 感謝に堪えません (I cannot thank you enough). Use (2) is polite and formal, used in speeches and greetings.

Worthy of ~; enough to ~
Means "worthy of ~" or "sufficient to ~". It usually comes before a noun, as in 信頼に足る人物 (a person worthy of trust) or 証明するに足るデータ (data sufficient to prove it). It is formal. The negative 〜に足らない means "not worth ~"; in particular 取るに足らない (trivial, insignificant) is a common set phrase.

ところが、噂を聞いた客が押し寄せ、メロンパンは昼前に売り切れていた。わたしの分は一つも残っていなかった。However, customers who had heard the rumor rushed in, and the melon bread had sold out before noon. There was not a single one left for me.
