Is Japatan free to use?
Yes. Japatan is free to download and all JLPT vocabulary levels (N5–N1) can be studied for free. An optional Premium plan removes banner ads, gives you unlimited mistakes (no Heart Gems needed), and removes the daily word limit — available as weekly, yearly, or lifetime purchases.
Which JLPT levels does Japatan cover?
Japatan covers all five JLPT levels: N5 (beginner), N4, N3, N2, and N1 (advanced). Words are organized by level so you can study exactly what you need for your target exam.
Does Japatan work offline?
Yes. Vocabulary decks are stored on your device, so you can study JLPT words anywhere — on the train, on a plane, or without a data connection.
How does the review system work?
