Explicación
としても means even if we suppose ~ is true, the result does not change. It is used for things that are unknown or unlikely, imagined as a hypothesis. It is similar to ても but stresses the supposition more. It can be used with たとえ or もし.
Ejemplos
今からタクシーに乗ったとしても、会議には間に合わないだろう。
Even if I took a taxi now, I probably wouldn't make it to the meeting.
宝くじが当たったとしても、仕事は続けるつもりだ。
Even if I won the lottery, I would keep working.
値段が少し高いとしても、安全なものを選びたい。
Even if it costs a little more, I want to choose something safe.
その話が本当だとしても、今はだれにも言わないほうがいい。
Even if that story is true, you'd better not tell anyone for now.
Notas
Na-adjectives and nouns need だ (本当だとしても). Note that N + としても can also mean also as N (in the role of N), which is a different use.
