Explicación
A formal way to say "because of ~ / due to ~." It is common in news, notices, and writing, and is often shortened to 〜のため、. It can be used for good or bad results. What follows is a factual result, not a request (〜てください) or a statement of will (〜しよう).

大雪のために、電車が止まりました。
The trains stopped because of the heavy snow.
工事のため、この道は通れません。
This road is closed due to construction.
朝寝坊したために、予約していた飛行機に乗れなかった。
Because I overslept, I couldn't get on the flight I had booked.
値段が高いために、新しい商品はあまり売れなかった。
Because the price was high, the new product didn't sell well.
Notas
It looks the same as purpose ために (N4). Purpose is something you do on purpose (合格するために勉強する); cause is often a ta-form or something that just happens (熱が出たために休んだ). Unlike せいで and おかげで, it carries no personal feeling.
