A formal way to say "because of ~ / due to ~." It is common in news, notices, and writing, and is often shortened to 〜のため、. It can be used for good or bad results. What follows is a factual result, not a request (〜てください) or a statement of will (〜しよう).

주의
It looks the same as purpose ために (N4). Purpose is something you do on purpose (合格するために勉強する); cause is often a ta-form or something that just happens (熱が出たために休んだ). Unlike せいで and おかげで, it carries no personal feeling.
