〜ばかり

only ~; nothing but ~; always doing ~

Formação
  • N + ばかり
  • Vて形 + ばかりいる

ばかり means only this and nothing else. N + ばかり says there is too much of the same thing. Vて + ばかりいる means someone is always doing the same thing. Both often carry the speaker's dissatisfaction. だけ simply states a limit, but ばかり often sounds critical.

Exemplos

  • 弟おとうとは肉にくばかり食たべて、野菜やさいを食たべません。

    My little brother eats nothing but meat and won't eat vegetables.

  • 最近さいきんは雨あめの日ひばかりで、洗濯せんたくができない。

    It's been nothing but rainy days lately, so I can't do the laundry.

A だけでなく B (も) means not only A but also B. The second part often has も or まで. It attaches to nouns, verbs and adjectives; na-adjectives keep な (静かなだけでなく). In casual speech, people say だけじゃなく.

アリ仕事しごとが忙いそがしくて、外食がいしょくばかりなんです。昨日きのうも今日きょうも、昼ひるはラーメンでした。Work is busy, so I eat out all the time. Yesterday and today, I had ramen for lunch.

マリアそれじゃ、栄養えいようが偏かたよるよ。たまには自炊じすいしたら？Then your nutrition will be unbalanced. Why not cook for yourself once in a while?

アリでも、料理りょうりは時間じかんがかかるし……。But cooking takes time, and...

マリア簡単かんたんな料理りょうりでいいんだよ。自炊じすいすると、お金かねがかからないだけでなく、栄養えいようのバランスもよくなるよ。Simple dishes are fine. If you cook for yourself, it not only costs less, but your diet becomes more balanced too.
