〜はもとより

  • N + はもとより、N + も

Explicação

It means "~ is obvious, and something else is also true." The first noun is the obvious case, and the second part adds something wider or less expected, often with も or まで. It means the same as 〜はもちろん but is more formal and written.

Exemplos

  • この祭まつりには、地元じもとの人ひとはもとより、海外かいがいからの観光客かんこうきゃくも大勢おおぜい訪おとずれる。

    This festival attracts many tourists from abroad, not to mention local people.

  • 彼女かのじょは英語えいごはもとより、フランス語ごも話はなせる。

    She speaks French, to say nothing of English.

  • このアプリは、学生がくせいはもとより、社会人しゃかいじんにも人気にんきがある。

    This app is popular with working people, not just students.

  • 新製品しんせいひんの開発かいはつには、技術ぎじゅつはもとより、市場しじょうの調査ちょうさも欠かかせない。

    Developing a new product requires market research as well as technology, of course.

Observações

It basically follows a noun. The adverb もとより can also mean "from the start", so learn the set form 〜はもとより、〜も.
