〜たかと思うと

  • Vた形 + かと思うと
  • Vた形 + かと思ったら

व्याख्या

Means B happened right after A, often unexpectedly. It describes something the speaker observed with surprise, or a sudden change; A and B are often opposites, as in crying and then laughing. It is not used for the speaker's own actions, and the second clause cannot express intention or a request.

उदाहरण

  • 空そらが急きゅうに 暗くらくなったかと思おもうと、大おおきな雷かみなりが鳴なった。

    No sooner had the sky suddenly turned dark than there was a loud clap of thunder.

  • 赤あかちゃんは 泣ないたかと思おもうと、もう笑わらっている。

    The baby was crying a moment ago, and now it's already laughing.

  • 弟おとうとは学校がっこうから 帰かえってきたかと思おもうと、すぐ遊あそびに出でかけた。

    My younger brother had hardly come home from school before he went out to play.

  • 課長かちょうは会議室かいぎしつに 入はいってきたかと思おもったら、何なにも言いわずに出でていった。

    The section manager came into the meeting room, then left right away without saying anything.

टिप्पणी

Do not use it for your own actions. While か〜ないかのうちに stresses near-simultaneity, たかと思うと focuses on the sudden or surprising change after A.

"The children had barely arrived at the park when they ran off somewhere." どころか does not fit the meaning, 以来 needs the て-form, and かのうちに requires the 来るか来ないか form.
