Used to say that something led to a good result, with a feeling of gratitude. The result that follows is positive. It can also end a sentence: 〜のおかげだ / 〜おかげです. Verbs are often in the ta-form, and when someone did something for you, 〜てくれたおかげで is common.

주의
For bad results, せいで is normally used, though おかげで is sometimes used sarcastically (あなたのおかげで遅れたよ). おかげさまで is a set greeting phrase, as in おかげさまで元気です.
