ရှင်းလင်းချက်

Used to say that something led to a good result, with a feeling of gratitude. The result that follows is positive. It can also end a sentence: 〜のおかげだ / 〜おかげです. Verbs are often in the ta-form, and when someone did something for you, 〜てくれたおかげで is common.

နမူနာများ

  • 先生せんせいのおかげで、試験しけんに合格ごうかくできました。

    Thanks to my teacher, I was able to pass the exam.

  • 友ともだちが手伝てつだってくれたおかげで、引ひっ越こしが早はやく終おわった。

    Thanks to my friends helping me, the move finished quickly.

  • 会社かいしゃが駅えきから近ちかいおかげで、毎朝まいあさゆっくり寝ねられる。

    Thanks to my office being close to the station, I can sleep in every morning.

  • ホテルが静しずかなおかげで、旅行りょこうの疲つかれがよく取とれた。

    Thanks to the hotel being quiet, I recovered well from the tiring trip.

မှတ်ချက်

For bad results, せいで is normally used, though おかげで is sometimes used sarcastically (あなたのおかげで遅れたよ). おかげさまで is a set greeting phrase, as in おかげさまで元気です.
