วิธีสร้าง

  • V普通形 + わけだ
  • いA普通形 + わけだ
  • なA + な + わけだ
  • N + の / である + わけだ
  • N + という + わけだ

คำอธิบาย

There are two uses. (1) Understanding: when you learn the reason and think "So that's why ~ / No wonder ~." (2) Conclusion: stating the natural result of facts or numbers, "so that means ~," often with つまり or じゃあ. In both, the speaker connects a reason with its result.

ตัวอย่าง

  • 窓まどが開あいていた。部屋へやが 寒さむいわけだ。

    The window was open. No wonder the room is cold.

  • リンさんは十年じゅうねんも日本にほんに住すんでいたそうだ。日本語にほんごが 上手じょうずなわけだ。

    I hear Lin lived in Japan for ten years. No wonder her Japanese is so good.

  • 一日いちにちに二時間にじかん勉強べんきょうすれば、一週間いっしゅうかんで十四時間じゅうよじかん勉強べんきょうする わけだ。

    If you study two hours a day, that means you study fourteen hours a week.

  • A「来月らいげつから大阪おおさかの会社かいしゃで働はたらくことになりました。」
    B「じゃあ、引ひっ越こす わけですね。」

    A: "I'll be working at a company in Osaka from next month." B: "So that means you'll be moving."

ข้อควรรู้

Use (2) is similar to ということだ, but わけだ stresses that the result follows naturally from the reason. The negatives わけではない and わけがない have different meanings; see the next items.

"I hear Mr. Tanaka runs for an hour every morning. No wonder he's always so energetic." The speaker understands the reason, so わけだ fits. ことがある contradicts いつも, ことはない contradicts the meaning, and というのは cannot end a sentence.

2この店みせはいつも安やすくておいしい。店みせの前まえに人ひとがたくさん(  )わけだ。

เฉลย: 2 並ならんでいる

"This shop is always cheap and good. No wonder so many people are lined up in front of it." わけだ follows the plain form: 並んでいる. The other forms cannot come before わけ.

3A「会議かいぎは毎週まいしゅう月曜日げつようびと木曜日もくようびにあります。」
B「じゃあ、週しゅうに二回にかい(  )わけですね。」

A: "We have meetings every Monday and Thursday." B: "So that means there are two a week." B draws a conclusion. わけ follows the plain form, so ある is correct.
