Gramática de hoje

〜そうだ(様態)

Looks ~ / seems about to ~

Formação
  • Vます形 + そうだ(降ふり + そうだ)
  • いA(〜い を取る) + そうだ(おいし + そうだ)
  • なA + そうだ(元気げんき + そうだ)
  • いい → よさそうだ、ない → なさそうだ
  • 名詞の前: 〜そうな + N / 動詞の前: 〜そうに + V

This そうだ describes an impression based on how something looks. (1) With adjectives: looks ~ (looks delicious, looks hard). (2) With verbs: seems about to happen or likely to happen (it looks like it will rain). It is for impressions not yet confirmed, so it is not used for things that are obvious at a glance, like a color.

Exemplos

  • この ケーキは とても おいしそうですね。

    This cake looks really delicious.

  • 空そらが 暗くらいですね。雨あめが 降ふりそうです。

The sky is dark. It looks like it's going to rain.

〜そうだ(伝聞)

I heard that ~ / they say ~

Formação
  • V普通形 + そうだ
  • いA普通形 + そうだ
  • なA普通形 + そうだ(静しずかだ/静しずかだった + そうだ)
  • N普通形 + そうだ(雨あめだ/雨あめだった + そうだ)

Hearsay そうだ passes on information you heard from someone or learned from the news or a book, without adding your own opinion. The source is often given with 〜によると or 〜の話では. It attaches to the plain form, so na-adjectives and nouns keep だ.

Exemplos

  • 天気予報てんきよほうに よると、明日あしたは 雪ゆきが 降ふるそうです。

According to the weather forecast, it will snow tomorrow.

  • 田中たなかさんの 話はなしでは、あの レストランは 安やすくて おいしいそうです。

According to Mr. Tanaka, that restaurant is cheap and good.
