Explicação
さえ gives an extreme or very basic example to suggest "if even this is true, the rest is obviously true." It is often used in negative sentences. It replaces が and を, and でさえ is common for subjects. Other particles stay, as in にさえ.

I'm so busy that I don't even have time to eat lunch.

Observações
も can often replace さえ, but さえ is stronger and sounds a little more formal. It is more common in conversation than すら.
