Explanation
Gives a reason as an excuse or explanation: because of this situation, it couldn't be helped. It is common when apologizing for being late or for a mistake. In casual speech it becomes もんだから. The second half cannot be a command, request or intention.
Examples
電車が遅れたものだから、会議に間に合いませんでした。
The train was delayed, so I couldn't make it to the meeting in time.
外があまりに寒いものだから、一日中家にいた。
It was so cold outside that I stayed home all day.
部屋が静かなものだから、つい寝てしまった。
The room was so quiet that I fell asleep before I knew it.
息子がまだ子供なものだから、長い旅行はなかなかできない。
Since my son is still small, we can't really take long trips.
Notes
It cannot be followed by a request or command; use から or ので instead. Nouns and な-adjectives connect with な.
