Explicación
(1) A と B means that whenever A happens, B follows naturally. It is common for nature, how machines work, directions and habits. B cannot be a request, invitation or wish (〜てください, 〜ましょう, 〜たい). (2) With a past-tense B, A と、B た describes something you found or noticed when you did A.

Notas
と cannot be followed by a request or invitation. Instead of 駅に着くと、電話してください, use 〜たら: 駅に着いたら、電話してください.
