  • N + といったところだ

Explicación

N といったところだ is the speaker's estimate that something is roughly N and no more. It often follows a quantity and is used with words like せいぜい or まだ. It suggests that the amount or level is not very high, so it is not used to emphasize a large number. In conversation you also hear といったところかな and といったところです.

Ejemplos

  • この町まちの人口じんこうは、せいぜい三千人さんぜんにん といったところだ。

    This town's population is three thousand at most.

  • 毎日まいにち忙いそがしくて、睡眠時間すいみんじかんは五時間ごじかん といったところです。

    I'm busy every day, so I get about five hours of sleep.

  • 今度こんどの旅行りょこうの費用ひようは、一人ひとり三万円さんまんえん といったところだろう。

    The cost of the upcoming trip will probably be around 30,000 yen per person.

  • 彼かれの英語えいごは、日常会話にちじょうかいわに困こまらない程度ていど といったところだ。

    His English is good enough for everyday conversation, but not much more.

Notas

Do not use it to stress a large number, as in 五万人も集まった. It is also not used after commands or wishes.
