For the (strong) purpose of ~ (literary)

Vない形(「ない」をとる) + んがため(に)
Vない形(「ない」をとる) + んがための + N
する → せんがため
来る → 来(こ)んがため

A literary expression of a strong purpose: "determined to ~ at any cost." Take the ない form, drop ない, and add ん (勝たんがため, 知らんがため); する becomes せんがため. Before a noun, use 〜んがためのN. It can suggest that someone is going to great or excessive lengths for the goal.

A very formal expression meaning "must not be done" or "unacceptable for someone in that position." It is always followed by a noun such as 行為 (act), 態度 (attitude), or 発言 (remark). It is mostly used as N にあるまじき N or N としてあるまじき N to strongly criticize behavior unbecoming of a role, such as a teacher or a professional.

勝かたんがために審判しんぱんを欺あざむく。プロの試合しあいでは、そんな場面ばめんを時々ときどき目めにする。Deceiving the referee just to win. In professional games, we sometimes see scenes like that.

わざと倒たおれて反則はんそくをもらうような不正ふせいは、選手せんしゅにあるまじき行為こういだ。Cheating such as falling on purpose to draw a foul is behavior unworthy of an athlete.

ところが先日せんじつ、近所きんじょの小学生しょうがくせいのサッカー大会たいかいで、思おもわぬ光景こうけいを見みた。The other day, however, I saw an unexpected scene at a local elementary school soccer tournament.

決勝点けっしょうてんが入はいった直後ちょくご、点てんを決きめた少年しょうねんが審判しんぱんのところへ走はしっていき、「ボールが手てに当あたりました」と申もうし出でたのだ。Right after the winning goal went in, the boy who scored ran to the referee and told him, "The ball hit my hand."

点てんは取とり消けされ、試合しあいは引ひき分わけに終おわった。The goal was canceled, and the game ended in a draw.

黙だまっていれば、誰だれにも気きづかれなかっただろう。それでも自分じぶんから認みとめた潔いさぎよい態度たいどに、両りょうチームの親おやたちから拍手はくしゅが起おこった。If he had kept quiet, probably no one would have noticed. Still, his honest attitude of admitting it himself drew applause from the parents of both teams.

勝利しょうり至上しじょうの考かんがえ方かたは、ときに倫理りんりを忘わすれさせる。A win-above-all mindset sometimes makes people forget ethics.

しかし、ルールという規範きはんがあればこそ、スポーツは面白おもしろいのではないか。But isn't it precisely because there are norms called rules that sports are interesting?

勝かつことは大切たいせつだが、品位ひんいを失うしなってまで勝かつ必要ひつようはない。Winning matters, but there is no need to win at the cost of losing one's dignity.

試合しあいの後あと、あの少年しょうねんは「負まけてないから、まあいいか」と笑わらっていたそうだ。彼かれの誇ほこりは、どんな優勝ゆうしょうカップよりも輝かがやいて見みえた。After the game, the boy apparently laughed and said, "Well, we didn't lose, so it's fine." His pride seemed to shine brighter than any trophy.
