ようだ and みたいだ mean almost the same; みたいだ is conversational and ようだ is a little more formal. (1) A guess based on what you see or feel: the lights are off, so he seems to have gone home. (2) A comparison: like spring, like a hotel. In use (2), you know it is not actually that thing.

(2) After a noun: typical of, having the real qualities of (spring-like weather, child-like). In use (2) it conjugates like an i-adjective: らしく, らしくない.

R1アリさんは どうして お祭りが あると 思いましたか。
เฉลย: 2 たいこの 音が 聞こえて、人も たくさん 歩いて いたから
Ali says it sounds like drums and lots of people are walking, so it seems there is a festival. They see the people dancing only later.
R2この お祭りでは、見て いる 人は どう しますか。
เฉลย: 3 いっしょに 踊る
Ali says that at this festival, apparently the people watching dance along too. That is why Lin says, "Let's dance too!"
1京都には 古い 神社や お( )が たくさん あります。
เฉลย: 3 寺
"There are many old shrines and temples in Kyoto." お寺 (temple) is often paired with 神社. We do not say お昔, お音 or お文化.
2子どもたちが 音楽を 聞きながら 楽しそうに( )います。
เฉลย: 1 踊って
"The children are dancing happily while listening to music." 踊る (dance) fits. 降る is for rain, 聞こえる takes a sound as its subject, and 曲がる is for turning on a road.
3お茶や 着物は 日本の 大切な( )です。
เฉลย: 4 文化
"Tea and kimono are an important part of Japanese culture." 文化 (culture) fits. Tea and kimono are not a sound, a festival or sightseeing.
4部屋の 電気が 消えて いる。田中さんは もう 寝た( )。
เฉลย: 2 みたいだ
"The light in the room is off. It seems Tanaka-san has already gone to bed." At the end of a sentence we use みたいだ. みたいな comes before a noun, and みたいに before a verb or adjective.
5田中さんは 子ども( )よく 笑います。
เฉลย: 3 みたいに
"Tanaka-san laughs a lot, like a child." Before the verb 笑います we need みたいに. 子どもみたいに means "in the same way as a child".
6今日は 春( )あたたかい 日です。
เฉลย: 1 らしい
"Today is a warm day, just like spring." Noun + らしい means it has the typical qualities of that thing. よう needs の after a noun (春のような), and そうな does not attach to a noun.
7A「リンさん、今日は 休みですか。」
B「ええ、かぜを ひいた( )よ。」
เฉลย: 4 らしい
A: "Is Lin off today?" B: "Yes, apparently she caught a cold." らしい passes on what B heard. そうな, ような and みたいな are forms used before a noun, so they cannot come before よ.
8神社で お祭りが あります。
เฉลย: 2 じんじゃ
神社 is read じんじゃ (shrine). Both じ and じゃ are voiced. The sentence means "There is a festival at the shrine."
