Explicação
Shows that an event became the starting point for a new action or a change in thinking or relationships. The trigger can be small or accidental. The second part usually describes a change or a new start, such as 〜を始めた or 〜ようになった. がきっかけで is also common, and を契機に is a more formal version.

Watching Japanese anime got me started studying Japanese.
健康診断の結果をきっかけに、毎朝歩くようになった。
Prompted by the results of my health checkup, I started walking every morning.
旅行先で同じバスに乗ったのがきっかけで、二人は友達になった。
The two became friends because they happened to ride the same bus on a trip.
大阪への転勤をきっかけにして、自分で料理をするようになった。

Observações
With verbs, add の or こと (見たのをきっかけに, 読んだことをきっかけに). It is not used for fixed routines with no change (×毎朝7時をきっかけに起きる).
