The other day, a friend from my student days invited me, and I climbed a mountain for the first time in ten years.
I used to climb often, but since it had been so long, I bought new boots and a new backpack and set out with first-class gear, at least.
However, after only about thirty minutes of walking, I was badly out of breath and my legs would not move forward.
The path was steeper than I had expected, and I could hardly reach even the rest area halfway up, let alone the summit.
It was also hot that day, and the hilly path was harsher than I had expected.
