A から B means "because A, B." The reason comes first and the result second: the opposite order from English "B because A." から can follow either the です/ます form or the plain form. です/ます + から is more polite; with friends, use the plain form + から. B can be a request, an invitation or a wish (〜てください, 〜ましょう, 〜たいです). To answer どうして (why) with only the reason, end the sentence with 〜からです.

주의
Nouns and な-adjectives need だ or です before から (× 雨から → ○ 雨だから / 雨ですから). から attached directly to a noun, as in 九時から or 東京から, means "from" and is a different word.
