Formación
- Vます形 + がち
- N + がち
Explicación
Means "something tends to happen often" or "one easily ends up doing ~," usually about undesirable things. It follows the masu-stem of a verb, and also certain nouns such as 病気がち (often sick), 留守がち (often away), 曇りがち (often cloudy). It works like a na-adjective: 〜がちだ, 〜がちな + noun, 〜がちの + noun.
Ejemplos
寒い日は、朝起きるのが遅くなりがちだ。
On cold days, I tend to get up late.
仕事が忙しいと、昼ご飯を抜きがちです。
When work is busy, I tend to skip lunch.
祖母は冬になると病気がちで、あまり外に出ない。
My grandmother often gets sick in winter and doesn't go out much.

Notas
It is usually not used for good things (not 笑いがち). 〜やすい can describe a thing's nature (このペンは書きやすい), while がち talks about something happening many times.

"When I'm busy, I tend to forget to clean my room." がち follows the masu-stem: 忘れがちだ.
2田中さんは体が弱くて、子どものころから( )だった。
Respuesta y explicación
Respuesta: 2 病気がち
"Mr. Tanaka has a weak constitution and was often sick from childhood on." 病気がちだった fits. っぽい and らしい are i-adjective forms and cannot take だった, and 元気がち is not used.
3「がち」の使い方が正しい文はどれですか。
Respuesta y explicación
Respuesta: 4 雨の日は、バスが遅れがちだ。
4 is correct: "On rainy days, buses tend to be late." 1 attaches がち to the dictionary form (it should be the masu-stem), 2 is a one-time plan, and 3 uses an i-adjective, so they are wrong.
