解說
Shows a role, status, qualification or category, meaning in the position of or in the role of. It is used for people and also for how things are used (used as a school). To modify a noun, use NとしてのN.
例句
彼女は通訳 として 会議に参加しました。
She took part in the meeting as an interpreter.
この建物は、昔は学校 として 使われていました。
This building used to be used as a school.
私は留学生 として、去年日本に来ました。
I came to Japan last year as an international student.
社会人 としての マナーを会社で教えてもらいました。
I was taught the manners expected of a working adult at my company.
注意
Do not confuse it with にとって (an evaluation from someone's viewpoint). 私にとって大切です is correct, but 私として大切です is unnatural.
