接續
- Vます形 + つつある
解說
This shows that a change is happening gradually right now. It is used with verbs of change, such as 増える, 減る, 変わる, 近づく, 回復する and 完成する. It is not used with action verbs like 食べる or 読む; use ている for those. It often appears in news and written explanations.

答案: 2 先週けがをした足は、少しずつ治りつつある。
治る is a verb of change, so 治りつつある is natural: "My leg is gradually healing." 食べる and 読む are simple actions, and raining all day is not a change, so つつある does not fit them.
3インターネットのおかげで、人々の生活は便利に( )。

答案: 4 なりつつある
つつある attaches to なり, the ます stem of なる. The sentence means "Thanks to the internet, people's lives are becoming more convenient." なりつつ alone cannot end the sentence.
