〜ようにする

Make an effort to ~; make sure to ~

接续

  • V辞書形 + ようにする
  • Vない形 + ようにする

讲解

This means you try or take care to do (or not do) something. You ni shite iru describes an ongoing habit or effort. You ni shite kudasai is a soft request: 'please make sure to ~'. You ni naru describes a change that happens, while you ni suru describes your own effort.

例句

  • 健康けんこうの ために、毎日まいにち 野菜やさいを 食たべるように して います。

    For my health, I make a point of eating vegetables every day.

  • 寝ねる 前まえは スマホを 見みないように して います。

    I try not to look at my phone before going to bed.

  • 明日あしたから 毎朝まいあさ 六時ろくじに 起おきるように します。

    Starting tomorrow, I'll try to get up at six every morning.

  • 授業じゅぎょうに 遅おくれないように して ください。

    Please make sure not to be late for class.

注意

Before you ni, use the dictionary form or the -nai form. Koto ni suru is a one-time decision; you ni suru is an ongoing effort.
