N4 语法 50/60

〜という

called ~ / (the news, story) that ~

接续

  • N1 + という + N2(名前)
  • 普通形 + という + N(話・ニュース・連絡・意味 など)

讲解

There are two main uses. (1) To introduce a name the listener may not know: 山田さんという人 (a person called Yamada); 何という〜 asks for a name. (2) To give the content of a noun such as 話, ニュース, 連絡, or 意味: 雨が降るという話 (the story that it will rain). In use (2), だ often follows na-adjectives and nouns.

例句

  • さっき、山田やまださんという人ひとから電話でんわがありました。

A little while ago, there was a call from someone named Yamada.

  • これは何なんという料理りょうりですか。

    What is this dish called?

  • 来月らいげつ、新あたらしい駅えきができるというニュースを見みました。

I saw the news that a new station will open next month.

  • 「禁煙きんえん」は、たばこを吸すってはいけないという意味いみです。

禁煙 means that you must not smoke.

注意

In writing, という is usually in hiragana, not 言う. In casual speech it often becomes って (山田さんって人).

小测验

1さっき、リン( )人ひとから電話でんわがありましたよ。

答案与解析

答案: 2 という

To introduce a name the listener may not know, use N + という + N: リンという人. "Someone named Lin called a little while ago."

2来週らいしゅう、漢字かんじの試験しけんがある( )話はなしを聞ききましたか。

答案与解析

答案: 4 という

The content of the story is that there is an exam next week, so plain form + という + N is used. "Did you hear that there's a kanji test next week?"

3明日あしたの授業じゅぎょうは休やすみ( )という連絡れんらくがありました。

答案与解析

答案: 1 だ

Before という giving content, the plain form is used, so だ can follow a noun; な, の, and で cannot: 休みだという連絡. "We got a message saying that tomorrow's class is canceled."
