Formação

  • N + どころではない
  • V辞書形 + どころではない

Explicação

Means there is something more important or serious going on, so you are in no situation to do ~. It is often used when there is no room for fun or ordinary activities. In speech it becomes どころじゃない, and for the past, どころではなかった.

Exemplos

  • 明日あしたは大事だいじな試験しけんだから、映画えいがどころではない。

    I have an important exam tomorrow, so this is no time for a movie.

  • 仕事しごとが山やまのようにあって、昼ひるご飯はんを 食たべるどころではなかった。

    I had a mountain of work, so I was in no position to eat lunch.

  • 旅行中りょこうちゅうに財布さいふをなくして、観光かんこうどころではなくなった。

    I lost my wallet during the trip, so sightseeing was out of the question.

  • 子こどもが熱ねつを出だして、引ひっ越こしの準備じゅんびどころじゃないよ。

    My child has a fever, so this is no time to prepare for the move.

Observações

どころか ("far from / let alone") is followed by another clause, while どころではない ends the sentence and means "there's no room for ~." Be careful not to mix them up.
