व्याख्या
A とはいえ B means 'A is true, but B is not what you would expect from A.' The speaker accepts A and then states something that does not match it, or something to be careful about. It can also start a sentence (とはいえ、) like a conjunction referring back to the previous sentence. It is close to といっても but a little more formal.

टिप्पणी
A must be an actual fact, not a supposition. といえども is even more formal and often means 'even (someone/something special).'
