Use はずだ when you are fairly sure something is true or will happen because of facts you know. It is more confident than かもしれない, and a reason with 〜から often appears in the sentence. It is not used to state your own intentions.

At the end Maria says the weather forecast is sometimes wrong. Sunday should be sunny, but she is still a little worried.
"There are a lot of dark clouds in the sky." Things in the sky that look dark are 雲 (clouds). Temperature and forecasts are not things you see in the sky.
"A typhoon is coming, so tomorrow's sports day has been called off." When a planned event is cancelled, we say
"My child still isn't home. I'm very worried." The other words do not describe a feeling.
"Lin is a serious person, so she'll surely come." きっと shows strong belief. あまり and 少しも need a negative verb after them.
"The sky is dark. It might rain." Rain cannot have an intention (つもり) or a schedule (予定), and 降るたい is not a correct form.
"Lin practices every day, so she should pass the exam." Use はずです when you have a reason to expect something. するたいです, するのでです and するながらです are not correct forms.
"Tanaka-san came back from a trip yesterday, so Tanaka-san should come to work today." はず follows the plain form: 来るはずです, not 来ますはず.
The last part is the long ほう. "Did you see tomorrow's weather forecast?"
