- V辞書形 + までのことだ
- Vた形 + までだ
- Vた形 + までのことだ
ရှင်းလင်းချက်
There are two uses. (1) Dictionary form + までだ: if one way fails, I will simply take another; it shows calm resolve, often after なら, ば or ても. (2) Ta-form + までだ: I only did ~, with no special reason or intention; used to play down thanks or to explain oneself. までのことだ has the same meaning and sounds a little more formal.

မှတ်ချက်
The meaning changes with the verb form: dictionary form for resolve, ta-form for 'I only did it'. Do not confuse it with までもない (no need to ~).

A: "Thank you for taking me to the station yesterday." B: "Not at all, you looked lost, so I just showed you the way." The action is already done, so the ta-form 案内したまでです is needed. The dictionary form in 1 refers to a future action, and 3 and 4 cannot come before までだ.
