There is a sound / smell / taste / feeling
Add がする to nouns like 音 (sound), 声 (voice), におい (smell), 味 (taste) or 感じ (feeling) to say that you sense something naturally, without trying to. 〜気がする means "I have a feeling that ~," a vague impression rather than a firm opinion.
隣の 部屋から 変な 音が します。
There's a strange sound coming from the next room.
台所から いい においが しますね。
Something smells good in the kitchen.
Decide on / choose ~
Use N + にする when you choose or decide on one thing from several options. It is common when ordering food and when deciding dates or places. You can also ask 何にしますか (What will you have?) or いつにしましょうか (When shall we make it?). Use 〜にしました for a decision already made.
(レストランで)私は カレーに します。
(At a restaurant) I'll have the curry.
次の 会議は 来週の 火曜日に しましょう。
Let's make the next meeting next Tuesday.
