N4 Gramática 53/60

〜がする

There is a sound / smell / taste / feeling

Formación

  • N(音・声・におい・味・感じ など)+ が する
  • V普通形 / いA + 気が する
  • なA + な + 気が する

Explicación

Add がする to nouns like 音 (sound), 声 (voice), におい (smell), 味 (taste) or 感じ (feeling) to say that you sense something naturally, without trying to. 〜気がする means "I have a feeling that ~," a vague impression rather than a firm opinion.

Ejemplos

There's a strange sound coming from the next room.

  • 台所だいどころから いい においが しますね。

  • 今日きょうは 試験しけんが うまく いく 気きが します。

Notas

To say you are sensing a sound or smell right now, use 音がします, not 音があります. The particle is が; 音をする is wrong.
