คำอธิบาย
Shows that someone acts as if something were true when it is not. Verbs are often in the ない, ている, or た form: 知らないふり, 寝ているふり, 聞こえないふり. It can also be used for playing a role in a game.

本当は知らないのに、知っているふりをしてしまった。
I didn't actually know, but I ended up pretending that I did.

I was tired, but I acted cheerful in front of the children.
父は子どもと遊ぶとき、よく おばけのふりをして 驚かせる。
When my dad plays with the kids, he often pretends to be a ghost to scare them.
ข้อควรรู้
Na-adjectives need な and nouns need の before ふり. Do not confuse it with ~ようにする, which means making an effort so that something happens.
