Marks the direct object of a verb

Formação
  • N + を + V

を marks the direct object: the thing that the action is done to (what you eat, what you watch, and so on). It comes right after the noun, in the pattern N を V, with the verb at the end. It is pronounced o, the same as お, but the particle is always written を. To ask about the object, say 何を 〜ますか (What do you ...?).

  • 私わたしは 毎朝まいあさ コーヒーを 飲のみます。

    I drink coffee every morning.

  • リンさんは 肉にくを 食たべません。

    Lin-san does not eat meat.

わたしは 日本にほんごを べんきょうします。日本にほんごの 本ほんを よみます。I study Japanese. I read Japanese books.

ひらがなを かきます。カタカナも かきます。I write hiragana. I write katakana too.

一年生いちねんせいですか? はい、一年生いちねんせいです。A first-year student? Yes, I'm a first-year student.
